Loving the Renegades
Maybe it’s the economic climate, maybe it’s the Gaga influence, but more and more clients have been coming in needing not just a logo, or a website, but wanting to have a piece designed in a way that completely wows them and their clients in an unconventional way. They want a logo that is personal to them, not just an icon depicting what “they do”. We encourage and embrace this wave of thinking outside the box, it’s what every designer dreams of. This dance is a tricky one however, the design must be effective above all else but must also resonate with the client and look amazing. Pulling a Gaga is not an option-it’s not about the shock factor, but about the elegant communication of the concept through space, shapes, typography and colours. Anyone can throw on a meat dress and call it art. |

The Lazy Summer
Summer has always been a great time to stop doing things. And do other things. There’s no rush rush at the malls. No costumes to think about. No eggs to hide or school plays to prepare for. Nope, the extent of the worries may be what beer goes with today’s bar-b-que? It’s life’s way of slowing everything down and lets us catch our breath, get together with friends and appreciate some time off. However, some people completely freak out when work slows down and enter a frenzied panic. We welcome those sleepless people because it means they need our services to drum up some business. These are the planners, the list-checker-offers. Admittedly, the people we wish we were. And actually, they are onto something because summer is the perfect time to be thinking about their company’s holiday e-blast card or end of the year promotion. So call us, worry warts of the world, we love thinking about Christmas in August! |

Jealous Much?
Oh, dear. The other day someone came into the studio and told us that someone had told her that she did NOT need a logo for her brand new business. Obviously they had logo envy. They didn’t want her to have an awesome logo that would rocket her success up to the stars and beyond. To that we say: beware of people who have graphics envy. It’s like saying everyone has to wear grey and have the same colour hair, eyes and nails. No way, not on our watch. Your logo says so much about you, your company, where you are going, where you have been and what you can do for someone. It’s what identifies you, defines you, speaks of you before you even open your mouth. Say no to the haters and send them our way, we can show them what a creatively genius logo can do for them. no logo… really? |
